Resister Rep. Chellie Pingree won re-election Tuesday night, and when she returns to the Swamp of D.C., her party will be in the majority.
Rep. Pingree took a leisurely stroll to another term Representing Maine’s 1st Congressional District.
As of early Wednesday morning, the Democrat had received 58% of the vote. Maine-first candidate, Republican Mark Holbrook was sitting at about 33%. Meanwhile, the “independent” Martin Grohman only tallied about 9%.
Pingree held large majorities in most of the major cities in the district, including Portland — whereas Holbrook was more competitive in smaller towns.
