6/7/18, Maine First Media Staff Report,
Maine’s gubernatorial general election may have just got more interesting.
Former Senior Policy Advisor to Gov. Paul LePage, Aaron Chadbourne has announced he’s exploring a potential write-in candidacy in the Bid for the Blaine House.
Chadbourne made the announcement at a Constitutional Rights Rally he hosted in Hallowell Monday evening.
Before announcing his interest in serving Mainers as Governor, Chadbourne was one of the celebrity bartenders, raising funds to help for several great causes, including:
- Richmond Republican Town Committee,
- Chadbourne’s non-profit organization, Rural Maine Possibilities Foundation,
- Travis Mills Foundation,
- Sexual Assault Crisis and Support Center.
Survivor winner and Maine’s own, Bob Crowley joined Chadbourne as a celebrity bartender.
Many candidates made speeches at the rally, but the night closed with Chadbourne giving an impassioned address on the state of Maine and what ails her — namely, politicians more interested in seeing their names in the Fake News papers than they are in doing what’s best for Mainers.
Chadbourne said there are things to like about all the GOP primary candidates. However, he doesn’t believe any of the four are capturing the hearts and minds of the Republican base.
The Harvard grad says if 2,000 registered Maine voters support him to run at RunAaronRun.com, and he is able to raise $100,000, he will launch a write-in candidacy.
Chadbourne knows a write-in candidacy is a huge mountain to climb. But he says multi-hundred million dollar projects for companies as a management consultant and strategist for the world’s leading consulting firm were also a daunting challenge — challenges he faced head-on and overcame.
The Gorham, Maine native certainly has a unique background incorporating the highest levels of education, business success, and accomplishments in the executive branch of government. And as you can see in the below MFM Convo, he has an unrivaled love of Maine.
Chadbourne is currently working on education and economic development projects in rural Maine. Aaron believes with ingenuity, creativity and getting the government out of the way of innovations; we can revitalize rural Maine with improved schools, economic expansion and broadband instalation.
