*WATCH* President Trump Slays at CPAC: “Don’t Worry, You’re Getting the Wall!”

2/23/18, Maine First Media Staff Report,

President Donald Trump was the guest of honor at the 2018 Conservative Political Action Conference.

CPAC is an annual event, hosting the biggest name conservative speakers and thought-provoking panel discussions.

Every year, more than 10,000 conservatives, Republicans and libertarians flock to the event hosted by the American Conservative Union.

This year’s event is being held at Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.

President Trump was the featured attraction.

Other speakers this year included:

  • Vice President Mike Pence;
  • Education Secretary Betsy DeVos;
  • Energy Secretary Rick Pretty;
  • Radio and TV Personality Sean Hannity;
  • Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX);
  • Pawn Stars Star Rick Harris;
  • Sheriff David Clarke;
  • Gov. Matt Bevin (R-KY);
  • President of Hillsdale College, Dr. Larry Arnn;
  • And many more.

But President Trump was no doubt the star of the show for attendees.

The President spoke for just shy of an hour and a half.

He listed off his accomplishments, vowed never to take away our 2nd Amendment rights, spoke to the importance of not being complacent during the 2018 midterms, threw several jabs at the Fake News outlets and even broke the news of sanctions against North Korea.

When speaking about the recent school massacre in Parkland, FL, the President did mention potential background checks to make sure guns don’t end up in the hands of the mentally ill — which could upset gun rights advocates. He also said he’s in favor of arming teachers and other school staff who undergo special training.

President Trump commanded the stage and had the audience cheering and laughing for the duration of his speech. Perhaps his biggest response was when he told the crowd, “Don’t worry, you’re getting the wall.” Those in attendance then erupted with “Build the Wall” chants.

You can watch the President’s full speech in the video at the top of the page.

Maine First Media will be posting highlights from the speech throughout the night on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
