*WATCH* Moody Opposes Border Wall, But Campaign Team Conceals the Comment

1/19/18, Maine First Media Staff Report

GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Shawn Moody is lying to Mainers about his stance on immigration and the U.S. border wall.

In an interview Wednesday on TV Channel 8, Presque Island, the recently-registered Republican describes the Great Wall of Trump as “expensive” and “controversial.”

Moody says he would rather see “our troops coming back Iraq and battle-torn countries, I would park them right on our American soil (the southern border).”

Pay close attention to his quick dismissal of the border wall starting at 1:05.

The Moody for Governor team is trying to capitalize on this video, but they’re leaving out the most crucial part.

The Moody campaign has edited out the business owner’s comments about the wall being too expensive and controversial.

The odd edit sticks out because it comes mid-sentence.

Watch the Facebook ad video below; you’ll notice the omission.

Shawn Moody on Fighting Illegal Immigration – Moody for Gov

Illegal immigration? We must fight illegal immigration. Shawn says: it's pretty simple, if you are here here illegally you are an illegal! Watch this excerpt from Shawn's interview on TV Channel 8 in Presque Isle. He notes illegals have been streaming across our southern U.S. border bringing guns and drugs. We must fully secure our American borders, including being vigilant right on our own northern border. As our next Governor Shawn will add his voice to a push for tighter border security. The Moody campaign is paying to boost this advertised video.

They’re paying to boost a misrepresentation of how the interview actually aired. For a candidate running as an “outsider” this tactic reeks of swamp politician.

The sponsored Facebook ad attempt to portray Moody as an immigration hawk:

“Illegal immigration? We must fight illegal immigration. Shawn says: it’s pretty simple, if you are here here illegally you are an illegal! Watch this excerpt from Shawn’s interview on TV Channel 8 in Presque Isle. He notes illegals have been streaming across our southern U.S. border bringing guns and drugs. (Yes the typo is part of the ad.)

You’ll notice in the ad, they only go after illegal immigration, something that is easy for a Republican to be against.

No mention of the problems America and Maine face due to the Refugee Racket, Chain Migration, the Diversity Lottery or any the other various problems with the legal immigration system.

And again, the ad clearly leaves out Moody’s stated opposition to the border wall.

Moody ran as a Left-leaning independent in the 2010 Gubernatorial race. Moody finished a distant fourth place, only garnering 5% of the vote.

Fast forward to 2017, Moody registers as a Republican, hires a team of LePage staffers and presents himself as a “commonsense conservative,” outsider. Interesting since most commonsense conservative support the Great Wall of Trump.

But the facade will fade quickly as more edited versions of Moody are released by his campaign staff.
