12/13/17, Maine First Media,
Democrat Doug Jones has been declared the winner of the Alabama Senate Special Election.
However, Judge Roy Moore is not conceding just yet, citing military ballots and a possible recount.
With 99% of precincts reporting, Moore trails Jones by 1.5-points. Alabama law requires an election to be within a half-point to trigger an automatic recount. Moore’s team is hoping the military and absentee ballots will bring the margin close enough to warrant the recount.
Win, lose or draw, this special election was an uphill battle for the former Alabama Supreme Court Justice.
Moore was targeted with tens of millions of dollars in attack ads by Senate Majority Leader, Mitch “the Muppet” McConnell’s Super PAC. And that was just the primary.
After Moore beat the establishment’s favorite candidate, Luther Strange, the efforts to take out this America First candidate only worsened.
Leftists across the country flooded the Jones campaign with cash. In fact, Jones outspent Moore nearly 10-1! “Resist” celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell contributed max donations to Jone’s war chest.
And then, the Washington Post, Gloria Allred and the rest of the Fake News went in for the death blow…the fake allegations of sexual assault and harassment.
Despite no evidence of the allegation, for the final month of the campaign, no policy, no issue was brought up, OTHER than the allegations. From that point on, every time Moore’s name was mentioned or written in the Fake News, it was proceeded by, “alleged child molester.”
Even after Moore’s chief accuser admitted to forging the lone piece of evidence against him, the Fake News conglomerate continued their quest to end the Moore campaign.
And it worked. Sen. McConnell and the Republican National Committee pulled support from Moore up until the final days of the election. Republicans like AZ’s Sen. Jeff Flake and ME’s Sen. Susan Collins actively campaigned against their own party’s candidate.
Then Leftist billionaire activist, George Soros registered convicted felons to increase anti-Moore turnout and the minority vote in the special election.
Given the drastic swings in such a reliably red state (Moore was leading by 8.5-points with 68% of the vote in, down to just a 2.5-point lead at 78% and it was tied at 86%) some are speculating vote tampering, or voter fraud may have been at play. Maine First Media is sure we’ll hear more about this in the coming days.
And finally, there was the write-in effort. With 99% of precincts reporting, Jones has about a 9,000 vote advantage over Moore. However, there were more than 22,000 write-ins thanks to Republican establishment urging. Those write-ins likely would make up the difference in the election and would have otherwise won the election for Judge Moore.
Moore has promised to continue fighting in the morning. However, we know from past experience, Democrats don’t stop counting until they have the votes to win. In all likelihood, Doug Jones is the Senator from Alabama for the next two years.
While Moore is not totally out of it yet, it may be time to concentrate on Mo Brooks 2020.
While Leftists crow about the “upset” victory for Jones, it is important to remember, with the entire deck stacked against him, the America First candidate only fell 9,000 votes shy of victory.
