Could Physician Assistants and Registered Nurses Soon Be Performing Abortions in Maine?

1/6/18, Maine First Media Staff Report,

The Maine Legislature is considering a bill that would make abortions easier to obtain.

The bill (L.D. 1763) would allow physician assistants and registered nurses to perform abortions.

Under current Maine law, only physicians are legally allowed to kill a baby inside a woman’s womb.

Rep. Joyce McCreight (D-Harpswell) sponsored the bill.

Co-sponsoring the bill are Representatives Patricia Hymanson (D-York), Thomas Longstaff (D-Waterville), Matthew Moonen (D-Portland) and Anne Perry (D-Calais), along with Senators Catherine Breen (D-Cumberland), Everett Brownie Carson (D-Cumberland, Geoffrey Gratwick (D-Penobscot) and David Miramant (D-Knox).

Joining with the Democrats in co-sponsoring the baby-killing legislation was RINO Roger Katz of Kennebec.

The bill had been temporarily tabled in the House.

However, the tabling is under review, and it is possible (if not likely) that this is not the last we’ve seen of this bill allowing more people to kill babies.

This is yet another example of Leftists being so preoccupied with ensuring Abortion-On-Demand, they’re actually making it less safe for the woman having the abortion. Pro-Abortion advocates have fought against surgical-center and admitting-privilege requirements in the past. Now it appears they want to allow anyone working in the medical field to perform abortions.

Maine First Media will continue to follow action on this abortion legislation.

  1. These are same people who oppose the death penalty. Doesn’t seem to be a method to solving Maine’s aging population by killing babies, but not only do they have a “mental disorder” they have no souls.

  2. The cosponsers have a decided lack of any moral bearings. Killing is killing. This could be equated to Nazi Germany, where citizens claimed “no knowledge” of the ongoing holocust that was taking place around them. Mariners are trading political allegiance and blind political ideology for unborn children. Sadly, we protect dogs and cats with a better defense than the unborn . Sad day for Maine.
