1/23/18, Maine First Media Staff Report,
The public is demanding the secret memo exposing Obama Administration abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act be released to the public.
However, Republican Bruce Poliquin (R-CD2) is not on the list.
In fact, Maine First Media can’t find a single public Poliquin comment about the memo being circulated around Congress.
So far, more than 180 Congressman have viewed a preview.
And while no one expects radical resister, Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-CD1) to go anywhere near the document, as a Republican, many Mainers are expecting Poliquin to act.
Bashful Bruce’s name is not found on a letter from several Congressman to House Intelligence Committee Chairman, Devin Nunes (R-CA) demanding the release of the document.
Rep. Poliquin is no stranger to signing letters. In early December, he signed a letter to Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan (R-WI) in support of amnesty for DACA recipients.
However, he didn’t sign this letter — signed by 65 of his colleagues — requesting a release of a memo detailing a previous presidential administration, spying on the American pubic.
The FISA memo is rumored to also shed new light on the supposed Trump-Russia collusion witch hunt — with some law makers suggesting the memo could mark the end of the special investigation by Robert Mueller.
Furthermore, some legislators believe this could lead to jail time for some guilty parties.
Conservative Rep. Steve King (R-IA) wrote to the gravity of the memo in this tweet:
Members of the House Intelligence Committee says they will release the FISA memo to the public, but that due to procedural measures, the public may not see it until mid-March.
